I am a trusted and experienced advisor to cultural organizations as they navigate large and complex capital projects.
I’ve been down the path of capital projects so often that I now know where many of the hidden traps in the path are, and can suggest routes around them.
I have served as executive director for multiple organizations, and led capital projects as small as a 180-square-foot storefront, and as large as a 30,000 square-foot warehouse. I have managed all-volunteer projects and have directed $20mm capital projects. I have advised more than a dozen independent cultural space projects and have proudly stood with clients and partners at their ribbon-cuttings.
Some of the areas where I can support your work:
Build your staff and board’s readiness for the long arc of large capital projects
Develop the project’s storytelling and communications plan
Introduce you to an internationally deep “rolodex” of capital project experts, from architects to commercial lenders to cost estimators to tax incentive advisors and more
Design the competitive process for capital project staffing-up and vendor procurement
Coach your capital philanthropy “ask team”
Develop the project’s overall philanthropic Case for Support
Advise you in your relationships with the design team, the general contractor, the fundraiser, and other team members
