I work with government agencies, as well as sector support organizations, to develop cultural space plans. These plans are easily actionable roadmaps – a menu of projects, programs, code revisions, and other strategic policies. Together we create a bespoke toolkit to support your cultural spaces, and the buildings, and neighborhoods, where they thrive.
What are the Deliverables?
SpaceLab: We conduct a cultural space census, cataloguing every cultural space in the project’s market. We then publish a public-facing cultural asset map online, allowing both policy-makers and community members to explore this large data set.
CAP Report: We publish, both online and on paper, a suite of strategic recommendations for specific policies, projects, and other programs to support cultural spaces.
Cultural Space Cabinet: We create and hand off to the client a functioning team of hyper-local committed experts in cultural space development. This Cabinet will have been involved in the development of the Plan View project locally and will continue to advise and advocate around cultural space issues locally.
Ongoing Support: We work to ensure that the recommendations are moved forward. We bring deep experience navigating municipal authorizing environments, and can support successfully executing these proposals.
How is Our Community Engaged?
Plan View engages stakeholders from diverse communities in various sectors:
Artists and arts & cultural organizations
Commercial real estate professionals
Elected officials & departmental staff
Architects, planners, philanthropists and grantmakers, property brokers, tourism professionals, commercial lenders, community organizers, and anyone with a stake in the health of culturally rich neighborhoods.
We host large and small group conversations with stakeholders. We conduct one-on-one interviews. We facilitate open public meetings. We design and circulate online surveys. We work to elevate the voices of the communities this project is designed to serve.
Who’s on the Team?
For each Plan View project, I assemble a team of both local and international experts in critical fields:
Code review
Community engagement
Policy strategy
GIS mapping
Hyper-Local Cultural Space Project Ambassadors
